Consider the following which recently happened at the USAF’s 72 ABW, which is the Wing leadership organization for Tinker AFB Oklahoma.

This mandate sparked a firestorm on military and USAF focused social media platforms with overwhelming numbers of negative comments and mockery. Tinker leadership became aware of the unpopularity of their decision and instead of rescinding the order, they doubled down.
